MOBILE PHONES
Did you know that the average UK household has two unwanted or unused mobile phones.
OPRA is now working alongside a company called Foneclub on a mobile phone recycling initiative which will raise funds to go towards OPRA's resources.
The scheme is very straightforward, and Foneclub will pay £2.50 for any handset that is received from OPRA regardless of age or condition. We are therefore asking if you could kindly search the cupboards and drawers for those unwanted mobile phones and pop them in the bag provided recently through your letter box or simply post them at 28 Sycamore Close (The post box is on the front of the house and not on the door).
Once we have finished running this collection we will receive a cheque from Foneclub within 10 working days, which will be put to good use, once agreed by OPRA. I am also checking other website that buys old phones as some are worth considerably more.
We do hope that you might be able to help with the collection, and thank those of you that have already donated your unwanted phones and for your time in reading this.


ONLINE SHOPPING
We have set up an account with an organisation called Easy Fundraising. They provide a FREE fundraising service where you can raise funds for any charity, trust, school, club, good cause or community group like ours, when you shop online.
You can choose from over 600 of the UK's best-known retailers including many popular names such as Amazon, Next, Argos, John Lewis and HMV, and when you shop use the links on the site you can earn, for example up to 15% from every purchase you make, this is then donated to OPRA, once you have registered yourself with Oaksland's Park Residents Association.
It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and it will raise funds for us, using this site, and as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money!
